Has this ever happened to you?

Has this ever happened to you? Your flight has just landed…you grab your baggage and head toward the nearest taxi stand. After getting into the cab and giving the address to your hotel, it dawns on you: do you have enough cash to pay the cab fare? After rifling through your pockets, wallet and coat jacket, it appears you will be short on the fare.

You’re in a strange city and there’s no ATM in sight. Well, rather than panic and explain to your cabbie that he/she isn’t getting paid for full fare, you can relax because of one man; Amos Tamam.

Amos Tamam invented the system of allowing cabs to be able to take credit cards for cab fare. And, to test the product, who better to use than the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission. After a successful run , it became apparent that Amos Tamam came up with a brilliant idea. Travelers that wanted to keep all their expenses on a corporate card were now able to do so for easier reporting and Amos’s technology was now in demand. So if you’ve ever used this technology, say thank you to Mr. Tamam!
